| May 3rd, 2007 - Seems like I have started imitating what my parents and other around me do. Its part of growing up. Some of the thing that I have started doing are - I try to eat from a bowl using a spoon.
- I picked up a ear bud once and tried to put it in my ears but my mother stopped me right away.
- I pick up keys and try to open the door.
- Today I tried to use the ear thermometer to check my temperature
Still no change in my stomach virus but I am OK otherwise. |

| May 2nd, 2007 - Looks like there is no change in my condition. Its been 3 days now and its still the same. My mother is doing a good job keeping my hydrated and changing my diapers during the day. My stomach pains once in a while and I cry sometimes. I don't want to be left alone at any time. My mom says I have become a "Chipku". I feel so helpless that I cannot do anything and have to trouble her. Lets see what happens tomorrow. Also, Uncle Amiya left yesterday so the house feels a little empty now. |

| May 1st, 2007 - Its International Labour Day, but it not a holiday here, dad had to go to work. They say April Showers bring May Flowers, but it looks like May had brought me sickness. I seem to have caught a stomach virus which is really bad. Apparently the first attacke is very difficult for babies because our immune system cannot handle it. |
My parents took me to Dr Woo. He checked me out to make sure I have no other problem such as fever and I checked out OK there, thankfully. He said that there is nothing he can do to treat this and that it will work itself out over the next few days. The main thing is apparently to keep my hydrated and also change my diet. He recommended that I drink plenty of water or Pedialyte. He also asked me to stop milk and have more starchy foods such as rice and potatoes. Lets hope I get well soon.

| April 29th, 2007 - There are many people in the world who want to watch a Lakers game and Amiya uncle is on of them. He wanted to see a live game and what better game than a play-off game. My father managed to get tickets for all of to go and watch the Lakers play the Suns in Game 4 of the 2007 playoffs. Lucky me, I have no idea but I was excited just to go out. |
The game was at 12:30 and so we left a little early. We drove into downtown LA to pick up the tickets and my father got a little lost as there were a lot of street closures that day. We finally managed to get the tickets and reached the Staples Center. It was a major party scene there. I was quiet when the game started but as the Lakers started trailing, I think I got bored and started troubling my father. I took a nap during half-time even though the band was playing right next to me. The rest of the game I was running around. The Lakers lost and should be out of the play-offs. :-(

| April 28th, 2007 - It seems like anytime we have visitors, we make a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. Everyone knows Hollywood and so its probably the best destination for most adults. Since uncle Amiya was in town, we decided to take him there for the day. We left for Universal by around 9. We got delayed because my father's car had some startup problems. There were long lines to get in, but we managed to get in by around 10 AM. We started off with the Studio tour and midway through the tour, I started crying out loud and there was no way to pacify me. I was hungry and my father left the diaper bag in the stroller. The tour guide said we would have to get off. Luckily a nice lady from India, offered me some Parle G biscuits which calmed me down and we did not get thrown out. |
The Studio tour had the sets of War of the Worlds, some cars from Fast and the Furious, the Mummy, Psycho, Desperate Housewives among other things.

In the evening, we will be going to Geek Central.....Fry's Electronics. Should be an exciting weekend. We will be going to Universal Studios tomorrow and to the Lakers-Suns Game 4 on Sunday. I have my Lakers outfit already. Go Kobe!!! |

| April 18th, 2007 - Sanjaya finally got voted off American Idol. My fellow Indian American leaving the show has left a void on Tuesday and Wednesday evening. This year's Idol has been extremely boring and Sanjaya was the only reason my father and I would watch the show. Not to hear him sing, but to see his new hairdo and to see if he would survive another week. Sanjaya, thanks for the memories. It was great fun while it lasted. You were certainly not the best singer but anyone who says you are vocally challenged or could not sign a note do not realize that its the judges and America who brought him this far. Your youngest Fanjaya You did give us something to talk about |

| April 13th, 2007 - The day finally arrived for me to take my first steps, albeit short. My parents have been waiting for me to walk unassisted. It seems like I will and then I plop and sit down. This evening I decided that I will take a few steps. My parents were watching Casino Royale and I took my first 3 steps...left, right, left, right, left and plop again. My parents were ecstatic and even though I don't know what I did, I seemed to be excited too. Maybe it was James Bond that inspired me or maybe it was Friday the 13th......we will never know. |

| April 12th, 2007 - Hola, Konichiwa, Hello. I have finally learned to say Hello, well not quite. Its a sign of the times that I have been born it. Everyone has multiple phones and means to reach them, emails, pages, Instant Messangers etc. I see my parents pick up the phone and go "Hello" all the time and I have also learnt to pick up the phone and put it against my ears anytime they say Hello to me. I also have my own VTech Phone and my father's cell phone which I have damaged. Call me! |
