Dallas Cowboy?

Jan 19th, 2008 -  Jan 19th - As you may all know, we are relocating to Dallas sometime at the end of February and we decided to go to Dallas to look for an apartment. My parents were dreading this journey because they knew that its going to be hard to make me sit in one place for the entire duration of the flight. We reached the airport early and my father entertained me by making me run around the airport. I was playing with the payphones and some of the advertising boards.

Once we got into the plane, I was in a great mood. I wanted to run around the plane. Luckily for my parents, the flight was empty and I was able to run around the back on the plane. They had also bought a portable DVD player to entertain me and I watched Barney for a little while too. Somehow 3 hours went by and we arrived in Dallas.

We rented a car and went to our hotel. It was a nice hotel and we had a big bed. There was a fridge and a small space under the kitchen sink. I loved getting in there and sitting there.
It was very cold in Dallas and my parents had to get me nice warm clothes. This trip is going to  be a lot of fun.

Happy Birthday Amma

Jan 17th, 2008  - Today is my mother's birthday and birthdays mean fun at home and we will be getting some cake too. I gave my mother a birthday card and she gave me some "Godi Ummas" for the card. My father also got her a birthday card and some gifts. Since it was her birthday, my father got some Sushi for lunch (my mother likes to eat Sushi).

In the evening it was time to cut the cake. My father had got a nice chocolate cake and my mother and I cut the cake together. As usual, I have become a "Haste Sondeel" and had to poke my nose into the cake. The cake was good. What a nice fun day.

Helping with the groceries

Jan-15-2008 - As I am growing up, I keep observing things and people around me and I try to  mimic them. I try to talk on the cell phone, change the channels, drink from a cup among many things. However, the one thing that amuses my parents is watching me get the groceries from the car.

We go to the grocery stores and the moment we get out of the car, I insist on carrying something back home. I usually go for the biggest bag, even though my parents pack a small bag for me (you cannot fool me). I somehow struggle to the stairs, bring it up and eventually into the house. I almost never give up. Its fun helping with the household chores.

Fun at the Mar Vista Park

Image Jan 12th, 2008 - My dad found this little park close to where we live and he takes me there every so often so that I can play on the slides and other things there. My favorite thing there is the slide. At first, I was a bit afraid of sitting on it, but after a couple of slides down, I started liking it. There were other kids in the park and they would slide down and we would all go "Whoooo" and "Yeaaaaaaaaa" with me leading the cheer. There were other nice things to do at this park like a sand pit, swings, things to climb on. I like coming here, but my favorite thing to do here is go to the Pepsi vending machine and push the buttons.

28th Dec, 2007 -  In case I have not yet mentioned it in my blog, we are moving to Dallas next year. I can grow up and be a cowboy there. My parents decided to start packing some of the things early on so that it will be easier later when the time comes to move.

There are plenty of boxes and open cupboards around the house and so I am having a good time pulling things out of the cupboards.

I wonder whats in store for me in Dallas or should I say "What do I have in store for Dallas?"

Navagraha Pooja at the Malibu Hindu Temple

User Rating: / 0

27th Dec 2007 - My parents decided to do a Navagraha Shanti Pooja today at the Hindu Temple in Malibu. We started off early to the temple with lots of flowers, fruits and sweets. We got to the temple at around 9:30 in the morning and it was quite cold up in the hills. My parents started the pooja while my Bapamma took care of me (boy did I give her a hard-time). I wanted to run around and also be a part of the pooja. I wanted to sprinkle the teerth, pour the ghee in the havan, throw the rice. There were two Bhat Maams, Prasad Bhatji and Shashtri Bhatji. They were very nice. They gave me a Hershey's kisses and a Ferrero Rocher chocolate.

After we finished the pooja, we visited the rest of the gods in the temple and then went home. It was a nice day for me. I got to run around the temple.

Baby you can drive my car

26th Dec, 2007 - One of my favorite things to do these days is to pretend to drive my father's car. Whenever I go to the garage, I sit in the car and pretend like I am driving the car. I prented to start the car, change the gears and then turn the wheel like there is no tomorrow. I cannot wait to grow up and drive my own car someday. I even say "Ka" "Ka" now.

You can see the excitement on my face from the pictures.
